AEROBORUS: The Great Cloud Reef

The story

High above the world on the floating cloud-reefs of Aeroborus, fourteen-year-old sky-herder Kaelin and her clockwork capuchin Jax tend to massive airborne wildlife. When a sudden lightning tempest frightens Barnaby, a juvenile bioluminescent sky-manta, the creature bolts into the treacherous Obsidian Spires—a graveyard of floating magnetic rock and wild predators. Kaelin dons her wind-glider wing-suit and pursues Barnaby into the dark clouds. Navigating through narrow basalt arches while dodging territorial, crackling lightning-hawks, Kaelin uses light-flares and a sonic flute to herd the panicking giant. The stakes peak when Barnaby becomes trapped in a swirling magnetic vortex near an ancient, abandoned wind-turbine ruin. Jax scales the precarious gearwork to release a trapped airflow valve, triggering a massive updraft that blasts Barnaby free from the storm's pull. Reunited with its pod just as the sun breaks through the tempest, Barnaby leads the majestic herd across a golden sunset cloud-sea as Kaelin glides alongside them in victory.
