The story

In the perpetually twilight city of Aethelburg, dominated by colossal, steam-powered mechanisms and oppressive watch-towers, Elara, a brilliant but impoverished inventor, struggles to find medicine for her younger sister, Lyra, who is succumbing to a strange, debilitating illness. When the city's power core, a glowing, crystalline artifact known as the 'Lumen Heart,' is stolen during a highly publicized public demonstration, Elara sees a desperate opportunity. Believing the Lumen Heart holds properties that could cure Lyra, and knowing it's the only thing the ruling 'Gear Lords' truly value, Elara risks everything to pursue the thieves – a shadowy collective known as the 'Rust Crows' – into the city's forbidden, lower sectors. Her journey is a race against time and the city's relentless automaton guards, as she navigates treacherous rooftops and collapsing industrial zones. She eventually confronts the Rust Crows' enigmatic leader, learning they stole the Lumen Heart not for profit, but to expose the Gear Lords' corruption and use its power to revitalize the dying lower city. Elara, torn between saving her sister and aiding the rebellion, ultimately makes a daring choice: she helps the Rust Crows distribute the Lumen Heart's energy throughout the neglected districts, triggering a city-wide power surge that illuminates Aethelburg's darkest corners. In the chaos, she acquires a small shard of the Lumen Heart, enough to create a temporary cure for Lyra, as the city awakens to the injustices within its metallic heart.
