AETHELBURG: The Iron Serpent

The story

In the gleaming, clockwork city of Aethelburg, a strange, petrifying blight begins to turn its metallic inhabitants and structures into brittle, rust-colored statues. Elara, a resourceful tinkerer, discovers an ancient schematic for a colossal, serpent-like automaton, the Iron Serpent, believed to be Aethelburg’s original guardian. Believing it holds the key to stopping the blight, she embarks on a perilous journey through the city's forgotten foundries and towering gears to reach its dormant core. Along the way, she evades the vigilant Iron Wardens, who see her efforts as a dangerous heresy. After a desperate struggle to power the ancient machine, Elara succeeds in awakening the Iron Serpent. Its awakened form, a magnificent, city-sized leviathan, then confronts the blight, emitting waves of pure, resonant energy that shatter the petrified structures and cleanse Aethelburg, returning it to its vibrant, metallic splendor.
