IGNITHIS: The Sun-Forge Shards

The story

In the sky-world of Ignithis, floating basalt islands orbit a dying central star. Orin, a battle-hardened sun-keeper clad in burnished brass armor, discovers Solene, a child born from a fallen meteor who radiates pure solar energy. As the colossal shadow-drake Vesperith hunts the child to plunge the realm into eternal frost, Orin shields her across crumbling sky-bridges and frozen crystal ruins. Assisted briefly by Kaelen, an eccentric skyship hermit who sacrifices his vessel to stall the monster, Orin and Solene reach the hollow chest of the Great Colossus—a continent-sized stone titan. Deep within the core engine, Orin fights Vesperith in a brutal melee. Badly wounded, Orin holds back the dragon long enough for Solene to leap into the central hearth, merging her light with the machine. The Titan reawakens, releasing a blinding wave of golden fire that disintegrates Vesperith and restores heat and light to the floating world.
