MAGNETIS: The Lightning Spire

The story

On the storm-wracked floating harvest-rig MAGNETIS, a catastrophic electrical surge disables the automated grounding system during an apocalyptic thunderstorm. Mute engineer Mara sees the station's visual overload timer ticking down: a terminal shockwave will incinerate the platform in forty-five minutes. Mara dons heavy magnetic boots and scales the central ocean-side spire to manually deploy the primary grounding rod. Her climb is ambushed by Vane, a rogue station engineer sabotaging the safety valves to siphon raw plasma into his personal escape vessel. Battling gale-force winds, snapping high-voltage cables, and Vane's brutal attacks inside the open-air transformer frame, Mara uses her heavy industrial tools to fight back. She overloads Vane's siphon harness, sending him falling into the raging ocean below. Reaching the lightning-shrouded apex with seconds remaining, Mara uses her plasma cutter to shear through jammed metal locks and wrenches the massive grounding switch downward just as a blinding mega-strike hits, channeling the energy safely into the sea and saving the station.
