The story

When salvage welder Maya and her crane-operator brother Leo dock at an abandoned offshore salt refinery, their heavy deep-sea winch accidentally breaches an ancient underwater shelf, releasing a translucent, light-eating crustacean predator. The creature hunts by kinetic vibration and absorbs ambient energy, rapidly shedding its razor-sharp exoskeleton to double in size with every kill. After the beast slays Captain Vance and destroys their salvage vessel, Maya and Leo retreat into the labyrinthine steel refinery. Trapped as a tropical storm surge floods the lower decks, Maya uses high-heat magnesium welding torches and acoustic decoys to steer the monster away from the main generator. As the creature undergoes a final massive metamorphosis inside the salt silos, Maya lures the behemoth into swallowing an ignited chemical fuel cylinder, triggering a massive thermal detonation that shatters the beast's glass-like shell and allows the siblings to launch a emergency survival capsule into the raging ocean.
