PELAGIA: The Brine Monolith

The story

On the flooded oceanic world of Pelagia, two salvage divers aboard an industrial dredge sub lock onto a colossal, long-dormant leviathan resting in a deep sub-oceanic trench. Desperate to extract priceless glowing energy nodules trapped within its skeletal core, Jax and Nora drill into the titan's calcified shell. The drilling heat reactivates dormant bio-systems and awakens the Abyssal Lamprey—a massive parasitic apex creature living inside the titan's shell. As glowing nerve pathways flare to life, the titan's internal structures collapse, trapping the sub inside a cavernous digestive system flooded with toxic brine. Forced into heavy atmospheric suits, Jax and Nora cross bone bridges and glowing acid pools while fighting off predatory larvae. Trapped in the central heart valve, Jax sacrifices his suit's energy cell to trigger a bio-thermal blowout, launching Nora's escape pod safely out through the titan's dorsal vent into the open sea just as the titan collapses back into the dark trench.
