The story

On the tidally locked, frozen world of Thaloris, an encroaching dark-matter cloud eclipses the horizon and threatens to plunge the remaining geothermal colonies into absolute zero. Salvage pilot Lyra Vane extracts a volatile, glowing fusion core from the icy wreck of an ancient starship, drawing the attention of ravenous biomechanical drones that feed on heat. Joined by her cybernetic mentor Jax, Lyra mounts a high-speed skimmer run across the ice-flats toward the Solar Needle—a colossal derelict space elevator designed to focus sunlight onto the planet. As they scale the rusted vertical spine of the structure through freezing storms, the swarm attacks. High above the cloud line, Jax sacrifices his rig to destroy the massive Apex Sentinel pursuing them. Reaching the needle's orbital apex platform alone, Lyra manually locks the unstable core into the mega-lens just as the dark storm arrives, igniting a blinding artificial sun that incinerates the shadow cloud and restores light to the world below.
