VELOCIMONT: The Grand Gravity Derby

The story

In the vertical cliffside metropolis of Velocimont, the annual non-motorized soapbox race determines who rules the city's upper terraces. Barnaby Fizz, a wiry mechanic living in the smoggy bottom levels, assembles a rickety vehicle out of spare clockwork parts and an oversized tuba horn, assisted by Pip, his helmet-wearing chimpanzee. At the dizzying alpine starting line, the icy Duchess Vane unveils her sleek, titanium racing sled equipped with illegal hidden saws and oil slicks. When the starter pistol fires, forty eccentric racers plunge down the mountain in a wave of visual destruction. Duchess Vane sabotage-clears the front runners, forcing Barnaby to pull off absurd acrobatics through looping wooden tracks, soapy bathhouse runoff bends, and dense cactus fields. As the race nears the finish line plaza, Duchess Vane deploys a giant magnetic tractor beam, but Pip redirects the beam into a giant chocolate fountain, swallowing the Duchess in dark fudge. Barnaby's cart disintegrates completely in mid-air over the final jump, catapulting Barnaby and Pip across the finish line in a flying bathtub sidecar to claim the Golden Steering Wheel.
