The story
In the vertical forest world of Verdamund, twelve-year-old aviator Pip lives among the roots of a giant tree. When an icy shadow-blight begins freezing everything from the ground up, Pip discovers the glowing Sun-Seed, the last warm heart of the forest. Guided by her brass beetle-drone, Barnaby, she launches her leaf-glider to ascend the colossal World Trunk toward the crown. Along the treacherous vertical climb, she meets Kael, a solitary glider rider who saves her from falling. Together, they navigate freezing winds and escape the monstrous Frost Spider Sovereign chasing them from below.
