XYLARK: The Bioluminescent Rift

The story

Deep within the abyssal trench of Xylark, pilot Kaelen drops into the pitch-black ocean wearing a heavy mechanized dive rig, tasked with retrieving a star-core energy cell from a sunken alien dreadnought. Alongside her sleek scout drone Pip, she descends through fields of glowing leviathans and jagged crystal spires. Mid-descent, a massive glass-skinned apex predator attacks, severing her primary ascent tether and trapping her on the trench floor. Armed only with flare harpoons and thrusters, Kaelen uses light pulses to blind the beast while navigating the labyrinthine interior of the flooded alien wreck. Inside the core chamber, she struggles against high-pressure gravity surges to unhook the pulsating star-core. Cornered by the leviathan in the engine hall, Kaelen overloads her suit's flash capacitor to blind the monster long enough to ignite the core, using its thermal eruption to ride a soaring geyser of light back to her home colony.
